Novaia Description

Historical tips: the cellar – where wine is produced, stored and sold – is located in an ancient manor house (which dates from the XV Century) surrounded by the estate (vineyards).
The vineyards of Azienda Agricola Novaia are situated between 250 and 300 metres above sea level, facing South and South-East. The vineyard cultivated area measures 7 hectares. The traditional vine growing technique called “pergola” has been almost completely substituted by the so-called “spaliera” (“guyot”) technique which allows an improvement in the quality of grapes, thanks to a greater density of structure, a better sun-exposure and a smaller production of grapes per hectare.
Grape varieties cultivated by Azienda Agricola Novaia are the following: Corvina Veronese 50%, Corvinone 30%, Rondinella 20%. To the three mentioned varieties has recently been added Oseleta, an historical and endemic variety from Valpolicella which was lost during the last fifty years.
The cellar has been recently restored and renovated both in structures and equipments, realizing, in this way, a perfect “marriage” between past and present, between tradition and technology.
