Chianti Classico Wine Trail
Most of the wineries in the
Chianti Classico area are located deep into the valley and the area
is not suitable for extensive auto traffic. Several of these wineries
have convenient tasting rooms located near Greve in Chianti Village,
which is about 30 Km from Firenze and Siena.
Chianti Classico is the red Italian wine most known in the world. It's the combination of the sangiovese vine with traditional cannaiolo, malvasia and trebbiano vines. His color is ruby red, almost garnet. The smell is intense, sweet violet. The flavoris sapid, slightly tannic. Gradation: 12 degrees at least. This wine is produced only in Tuscany, in the following typical areas: Chianti Classico, Montalbano, Rufina, Colli Fiorentini, Colli Senesi, Colli Aretini, Colline Pisane. The Chianti Classico area, between Florence and Siena, is the one where the production is the most antique.
